Hey folks
I'm thrilled to find out that this artwork has been selected for print in Exotique 6.
This piece features a young shaman who is ecstatic to conjure up her first spirit through dance.
The Hildebrandt Bros has always been a big influence on my painting style as I grew up collecting their "Marvel masterpieces" cards. I love their bold usage of colors and light. Every card was truly a masterpiece. For Spirit Dance, I wanted to pay homage to my idols and create a bold and contrasting piece. I also tried to paint everything on one layer. (since the Hildebrandt Bros. are traditional painters who worked with real paints and canvases) I will definitely recommend any digital artist to try this as it really speed things up and forces you to look at the painting as a whole.
